Jim Butler has 30 years experience in the Higher Education sector having served as a full and part time lecturer in Business at Western University, University of Saskatchewan, and the University of Windsor. He held responsibility for Human Resources/ Labour Relations and several ancillary functions at the University of Windsor for 14 years and recently retired from Wilfrid Laurier University after 14 years serving as the Vice-President, Finance and Administration. Prior to his work in the PSE sector Mr. Butler lead the Human Resources/ Labour Relations function at 2 national organizations in the co-operative and credit union sector. Mr. Butler currently serves as Director, Faculty Bargaining Services (FBS) affiliated with the Canadian Association of University Business Officers (CAUBO), an organization supporting Canadian Universities in the field of Academic Labour Relations on the administration side.
Mr. Butler was educated at Western University’s Ivey School of Business and the University of Saskatchewan. He was President of CAUBO and Chair of the Council of Senior Administrative Officers of Ontario, an affiliation of the Council of Ontario Universities. He has served as a Board member on numerous not-for-profit organizations.
